My Bio

All right, who is this guy?

I’m Jonathan Richman, Director of Strategic Planning for Bridge Worldwide, an interactive and relationship marketing agency based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Advertising Age ranks Bridge Worldwide among the Top 50 Digital Agencies in the country. Our company’s client list includes several FORTUNE 500 companies such as Procter & Gamble, Abbott, ConAgra Foods, Fifth Third Bancorp, and Kroger.

I provide strategic direction and leadership for our clients with a concentration in healthcare. A major part of my role is helping solve clients’ business challenges by finding the right solutions among all of the many choices available to today’s brand managers. From social networking to relationship marketing to channels such as mobile and complex back-end technology platforms, I help clients sift through the clutter and hype to find the best options for their brands.

I’m also, of course, author of this blog, Dose of Digital, which provides insights on digital marketing in pharma and healthcare. It is one of the most read blogs of its kind and is one of the top marketing blogs according to the AdAge Power 150. It was recently awarded the honor of “Most Influential Healthcare Marketing Blog” by PostRank. I’m a regular speaker at major pharma marketing meetings and conventions, including ten engagements in 2009 and frequently interviewed and quoted in industry publications. I was also recently invited by the FDA to speak at their public hearings on social media in pharma. Beyond healthcare, I’m also a regular author for digital marketing journals, iMedia Connection and AdAge’s DigitalNext, where I have have contributed articles on all manner of digital marketing topics.

Prior to joining Bridge Worldwide in 2007, I worked at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals for more than 11 years, holding positions in sales, training, sales leadership, and marketing in diverse disease areas including cardiovascular, oncology, asthma, and neuroscience. In my final role, I was US Brand Leader for Faslodex, a specialty injectable treatment for advanced breast cancer. During my tenure, I helped lead the product from negative growth to the second highest growth rate in the company in less than two years.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Tulane University (yep, a science guy by training). I also earned a Master of Business Administration with a marketing concentration from the University of Phoenix.

That’s all the business stuff…I have a wonderful wife and equally wonderful daughter (it goes without saying that they’re also both beautiful and smart…easily surpassing me on both accounts). In my limited free time, you can find me either working on my photography skills, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, or getting clobbered online  by a far better chess player. You can check out some more of my insights and observations about the world on my Posterous blog.

You can find me on Twitter…@jonmrich. Feel free to drop me a tweet anytime. I’ll look forward to hearing from you. Also, follow this link to contact me directly.

PS: If you need to find me in a crowd, this is who you are looking for:
