However, I&#039;m wondering how important this one really is. Some of the biggest and best RM programs don&#039;t have much dialog. People have to be able to tell you what they want and what they don&#039;t (maybe that&#039;s dialog), but a constant conversation doesn&#039;t seem to be important to people in this area (in others, yes). So, if you define &quot;dialog&quot; as I tell you what I want and you deliver it, then yes, dialog is very important in RM.</description>

You&#039;ve got me thinking...I wonder if there is an eighth in this new world of consumer empowerment and engagement: #8. No opportunity for engagement and dialogue? Is it also time to modify the definition of relationship marketing to include value add communication and dialogue?

I so agree with your #7 No customer ownership. Years ago, I initialy started putting my pic on shutterfly which made it hard to switch to another service as when it came time to make my year end calendar, low and behold all my pic were there and easy to pull!
