For IE, including testing different versions, you should try IETester (http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage). There’s a debugging feature with it as well. For Firefox, you can use an addon called Firebug. It also let’s you do some debugging. A big generalization, but FF and Safari render similarly, so if you’re good in one you SHOULD be good in the other.

There are some “auto-diagnosis” tools out there, but you’ll have to pay for them. I haven’t personally used them, so I can’t really recommend one over another.
