What's interesting about the new FDA guidance is the letter they send regarding Plavix. The Plavix letter does NOT reference Paid Search ads but natural search results. The FDA call them "sponsored links" but the examples they give are simply what comes up on the yahoo page when a search is done. The implications for websites and SEO are huge.

Arthur, Great question. I'm finding that, like most blogs, Google really likes this one, so it does well for many critical search terms. I haven't tried to go out of my way to intentionally put keywords into my posts. I just write what I want to write and naturally it tends to have some keywords that are meaningful to pharma marketers. I do get a list of search terms from Google Analytics and they are all over the board for now. I don't plan on changing the way I write to include more keywords, but over time I expect a natural accumulation of them. This, plus additional links from other blogs and sites, will help as well.

I relied on folks like you (and Twitter too) to spread the word to the right people and that seems to be working, as typically 20-30% of my visitors each day are from pharma companies. It's a good start and I think the word is starting to trickle out.

Another well written and thought provoking article, thank you.

How are you optimising your blog so pharma marketeers (like me) find it when they have questions like the one you answer?
